We use it to measure how fast we pitched a baseball, how far we walked, and how many calories we burned, to identify birds by their songs, to scan UPC codes finding prices of goods and then purchasing them, to browse the internet, to send/receive email, to find restaurants and hotels, to listen to music, watch movies, and even to buy coffee at Starbucks. Lest we forget, it’s also a telephone, and it does Facebook and Twitter. It’s replacing radios, maps, music players, TVs, still and video cameras, game consoles, newspapers, magazines, GPS navigation devices, calculators, routers, modems, and desktop/laptop computers.

Sales of smartphones have exceeded that of laptops since 2007. By 2014, it is expected that more people will browse the internet via phone than on traditional computers.

Daily life for many of us has changed over the last decade, due to smartphones, social networking, a bad economy, and more. While so much changes, one thing remains the same: God’s great love for us. God has planned for us to enjoy eternal life with Him in heaven. God did everything needed to make this a reality: He sent Jesus to live a perfect life in our place and to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. Do not let modern technology and a busy life distract you from the most important thing: God’s loving plan for your eternal happiness in heaven.
