Have you bought the presents? Are they wrapped? How about the outdoor decorations, Christmas tree, planning for family gatherings, cookie baking, snow blower, and those new clothes you want? Christmas is a hectic time of year. So much to do and so little time.

How did we come to this? Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The second person of the Trinity came to earth to be born a human. God carried out His plan of salvation by sending His eternal Son to live a sinless life in our place and finally to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross.

In the midst of our modern Christmas activities, take some time to sit back and thank God for sending Jesus to be our Savior.

But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Galatians 4:4–5
