Good Shepherd’s Lutheran Church, School and Childcare’s parent group, the Christian Education Association (CEA), will be holding its 13th annual Harvest Festival on Wednesday, October 27. The Harvest Festival is an opportunity for families of Good Shepherd’s School and Childcare to get together for a night of Christian fellowship and fun!!! There will be games for the younger children, carved/decorated pumpkin contest, awards, candy, a simple dinner, Trunker-Treating, and NEW this year the Panther Pack Showdown!

We ask that when you are choosing your child’s costume to use your good Christian judgement (no witches, wizards, violent characters, guns, etc.). Bring your already carved/decorated pumpkins in for judging. Carved and decorated pumpkins need to be brought by 6:00 PM to be entered into the contest. Prizes will be given to the top entries. Guest judges will vote for the best carved/decorated pumpkin, with the winners being announced the night of the event.

New: PANTHER PACK SHOWDOWN - We wanted to challenge and encourage the older children and/or families to participate in a new addition to Harvest Festival. Grab a team of 4 to 6 members to compete in challenges (similar to The Amazing Race) that will consist of: eating, puzzles, agility, athletics, steadiness, and other tasks. Each team can have a maximum number of 2 adults (18 and up) and must have one phone to take pictures/videos to show judges. Team costumes and names are highly encouraged. If you cannot get a team together and want to participate, we will find a team for you. You MUST register your team by the end of day on Wednesday, October 20 to verify we have enough supplies for all teams.

Once the games, pumpkin contest, and Panther Pack Showdown are complete, Trunker-Treating will start. Trunker-Treating will be held in the parking lot, weather permitting. Please only park in the school/church lot if you are signed up to hand out candy for Trunker-Treating.

Blessings, Harvest Festival Team
