Maundy Thursday Worship at Living Hope Church
(Good Shepherd's Campus)
Thursday, April 17, 2025
Communion Service: 6:30pm
Our worship on Maundy Thursday leads us to remember the Thursday of Holy Week when Christ instituted the Lord's Supper (Communion), washed the feet of His disciples, and gave a new commandment of love. The word "Maundy" very likely is from the Latin word "mandatum" which means "command." The name Maundy Thursday is probably a reference to the command Jesus gave his disciples on the Thursday of Holy Week -- "A new command I give you: Love one another" (John 13:34) or it comes from the words of institution of the Lord's Supper, "Do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me" (1 Corinthians 11:25).
